PYM launches again during the third week of September!
Here's what you need to know:
PYM Middle School (grades 6-8) meet Friday Nights from 7pm to 8.30pm at Parksville Baptist Church. We'll be kicking off the Fall 2010 semester on September 17th! The evening is a mix of fun games, great worship music from the band, learning about God in the life of a Middle Schooler, and some breakout groups with the leader teams!! Plus, every couple of weeks we break open the PYM Soda Shack and drink down some Jones Soda ($2)!! See you there!
PYM High School (grades 9-12) gather on Wednesday Nights from 7pm to 9pm. We're kicking things off this year beginning on September 15th. Our gatherings usually begin with some hangout time (xbox, open gym, food, visiting with friends) and then moves on to some short but fun group activities. The PYM Worship Band shows up most nights, as do our MC's leading table games and introducing the teaching time for the week ... we learn together about God, life, culture and how they all mix together in our lives. Bring a Bible if you have one, and note paper and pens are provided! See you there!

"Hillsong Youth" Concert in Victoria!

Hillsong Youth (yep, the youth ministry band from the same church that Hillsong United comes from!!) is making a stop on the island on October 16th!
They'll be at Glad Tidings Church in Victoria and PYM is gonna zip on down and join the night of celebration and worship! God is beginning to teach us how to worship him in music and in all our life, and we're excited to see if God can use a band from Australia to add to what He is doing in our lives here in Canada!
PYM will be offering a limited number of seats in minivans for a drive down and back. Watch this space for information on grabbing one of the tickets and the exact cost (ticket + ride).
If you are impatient and want to head down to the concert on your own, you can grab a ticket right now HERE, and we will see you down there (save us a good seat!)

Parent's Meeting - September 10th

We'll be hosting a PYM Parent's Meeting at Parksville Baptist Church on the evening of Friday, September 10th at 7pm.
In this 1 1/2 hour meeting (max.) we'll be talking about what you can expect this fall from the weekly programs, small groups, and extra events. There will be hot coffee on and some snacks too.
Plus, we are offering an extra session to discuss things parents should know about facebook and about enabling parental restrictions on itouch devices.

Small Groups Launch Dinner

Interested in joining a small group this year?
PYM Small Groups are bi-weekly gatherings of 6 to 10 in homes throughout the Oceanside area. They are a great place where students who have committed their to following Jesus can connect, pray for each other, and grow in their faith. It's a way to move to a deeper level of community, rather than just “floating” in a big group like the PYM mid-midweek gatherings.
We'll be hosting a dinner on Wednesday, October 13th for everyone who is interested. All of the PYM Small Group leaders will be there, and you'll have the chance to meet others from your group! It's a great way to kick off these "gatherings for growth"!!
What are PYM Small Groups? Small Groups are gatherings throughout the community of Oceanside for high school and middle school students who have committed their life to following Christ. These groups are made up of 6 - 12 students (same age-group and gender) that meet bi-weekly with a caring adult leader.
Will you be in grade six to eight next year? Wondering what the best part of Fall 2010 will be? Well you don't need to wonder anymore!
Come to the PYM Middle School Retreat and escape to the wilderness with all your friends for a weekend get-away you'll be talking about all year!!
We'll be heading to Seven Springs Camp from Friday, September 24th to Sunday, September 26th!!
It’s set to be a weekend packed with energy, amazing worship and brilliant insights into God, life, and culture, as you and your friends will learn how to live life large in the Kingdom of God!! There will also be great night games, comedy, and food beyond your wildest dreams!!!!
We've got limited spaces, so you'll want to register early to ensure you've got a bed in the conference center and not out in the woods with the bears!
